    Bayard Rustin Day. Rustin was an American leader in social movements for civil rights, socialism, non-violence, and gay rights. Combining non-violent resistance with organizational skills, he was a key adviser to Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s. The 2:00 p.m. program starts with keynote speaker Shaun Haines, a member of the Bayard Rustin Coalition and a political activist. He will speak about his work, introduce the film Brother Outsider, and lead a discussion and Q & A.  That film will be followed by Bayard and Me a short film by Bayard’s partner, Walter Naegle. This will be the West Coast premier of Bayard and Me. Naegle has devoted to life to maintaining Bayard’s legacy.

    A new exhibit in the Hall of History featuring eight East Bay artists working in a variety of media. “Eight-Point Perspective: Diverse East Bay Artists” was organized by Vallejo native Doug Heine, whose work was featured in a solo show at the Museum last spring.The exhibit runs through March 24.
